The troubles with dating today is that it is so commercialized that everyone expects so much of their date and in the end everyone gets disappointed.

The dating scene is so expectant and hoping to find love with unrealistic expectations which inevitably leads to failure. It doesn’t have to be like this however and changing your expectation of everyone else is a step in the right direction. Now there is a difference between lowering your expectation and changing it.


You can still be after the right partner but just don’t expect to find them on your first attempt or expect them to fulfill your every desire. Because we all know that this is very much unrealistic. The state of the advertising business today is much to blame for its images of the always happy couple painting a picture of endless happiness.

How are the dating agencies able to love up to everyone’s expectations of this world of endless happiness when it doesn’t exist? Even though everyone knows that there dating expectations are high they are unable to change them as they have been adopted from a young age.

Now all this misrepresentation of how the dating scene actually works creates end user dissatisfaction which hurts the industry. However all the hype is created by the industry so you could say they are hurting themselves.

This dissatisfaction comes from users signing up for free dating services only to find out that they offer a limited service where often the user can not even view the other people online. Ways that you can skip this step would be to only sign up to well rated sites.

These sites are reasonably well trusted but often do not cater for the niche market. They are a broad friend finder type service with a large client base but if you are really looking to target your search it is not recommended.

The reason I am posting this article is because I am seeing so many people unhappy with the state of the hyped up dating scene and feel society needs a reality check about what they are expecting from others. Dating sites are only there for you to meet people, from there the work becomes yours and keeping from being disappointed is up to you. It depends on your state of mind and what you are expecting of the date chosen.

Keeping an open mind about how the date will go will not only enhance the chance of success but more importantly change your perspective of how you see dating sites working for you.
